Welcome to What's The Move, operated by What's The Move LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to help the App function properly and to enhance your experience:

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect: name, email address, password (encrypted and never stored in plain text), date of birth, and gender. This information helps us verify your eligibility (18+), personalize your experience, and improve event recommendations.

1.2 Location Information

We collect your real-time location data to show nearby campus events, allow you to “check in” to events, and display distances. You can disable location access in your device settings, but some App features may not work properly without it.

1.3 Analytics and Usage Data

We collect non-identifiable analytics data to understand how the App is used. This includes aggregated demographic data, event attendance data, engagement metrics, and recommendation weights. All analytics data is aggregated and not linked to any individual user.

1.4 User-Generated Content

Organizations using the App can create and publish events, including event photos and descriptions. Any content uploaded by organizations may be visible to other users.

1.5 Third-Party APIs and Services

We use third-party services to provide core functionality (e.g., Google Forms API, Google Maps / Apple Maps, Weather Service API). These providers may collect technical data as part of their operation; their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and maintain the App, display real-time events and check-in functionality, verify user eligibility, improve recommendations, analyze and improve the user experience, and communicate with you about updates or account issues. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is securely stored and processed in the United States using Microsoft Azure infrastructure. All information is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored securely using industry- standard encryption. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at wtm@whatsthemove.live. Once your account is deleted, your personal data will be permanently removed or anonymized, except where we are legally required to retain it. Aggregated analytics data (which does not identify you personally) may be retained for research and service improvement purposes.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our App is intended only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user under 18 has registered, we will delete their account and associated data.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to access, update, or delete your account information; withdraw consent for location tracking at any time (via device settings); or request deletion of your personal data by emailing wtm@whatsthemove.live.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last Updated” date above and notify you within the App or via email.
